Edinburgh Airport Set For Overhaul in 2012

Global Infrastructure Partners [GIP] are set to transform Edinburgh Airport with the intention of greatly improving and developing the customer experience from Edinburgh Airport.

GIP, which also runs Gatwick and London City Airports, is acquiring Edinburgh Airport from BAA which as many will know was forced to sell Edinburgh Airport by the EU Competition Commission in 2011.

GIP announced that they expect development works at the airport to transform the gateway into Scotland’s capital city by improving the experience of both domestic and business travellers alike.

An Edinburgh airport taxi operator stated, “the news that investment is going to follow the sale of the airport is great for both customersd and all businesses associated with the airport.”

The deal on the sale of Edinburgh Airport will conclude in May 2012.

One Response so far.
